In a reaction to current times, we looked to mythology for escapism. Entranced by Homer’s epic Greek poem, Creative Director Sarah Munro reflects on strong female deities and emotive language in the new collection ODYSSEY. In a time of stillness, escapism and adventure is pursued through the mythology of gods and goddesses.
The strength, intelligence and power of female deities such as Gaia, the ancestral mother of all life, lead to a study of sensuality and femininity. The female form naturally became a motif to explore in solid gold. Working with our CAD designer, ancient Greek statues were referenced to carefully sculpt figures, not unlike how Prometheus created humanity from clay.
